In a breath-holding incident that shocked the media community in Egypt, the behind-the-scenes of a television program turned into a real horror scene, after a program hosted by an Egyptian media personality about “lions” inside the studio ended with a sudden injury that required her urgent transfer to the hospital.
The Sudden “Betrayal” Moment
The beginning was completely calm, as the media personality Marwa Abdel-Moneim was filming a special episode about dealing with wild animals. While attempting to get close to a “lion cub” and play with it in front of the cameras to create an entertaining atmosphere, the little one surprised everyone with a violent “predatory” reaction, attacking the media personality on her hand and shoulder amidst screams and confusion from the crew.
The moment that started as a cute scene turned within seconds into a state of maximum emergency. Marwa Abdel-Moneim was immediately transferred to the hospital, where she underwent a precautionary medical protocol that included rabies vaccination and necessary antibiotics, fearing any complications resulting from the “bite” of the wild animal, even if it was small.
After hours of anxiety and the news trending on search engines, Marwa Abdel-Moneim emerged to reassure her fans, confirming that she had left the hospital and was now at home in stable condition, despite the psychological shock and physical pain left by the incident.
This incident reopened the debate about hosting wild animals on talk shows. While some see it as segments that attract viewers, safety experts view them as “ticking time bombs” that could explode in the face of the host or guests at any moment, just as happened in this dramatic incident.
In this incident, it became clear that a single shot almost turned into a tragedy, so is it time to prevent “the fangs of the jungle” from entering the filming studios?
