غيب الموت الإيقاعي عمر شلاح البركاتي، أحد أبرز الأسماء التي ارتبطت بالفرقة الموسيقية للفنان محمد عبده، بعد مسيرة فنية طويلة امتدت لأكثر من ثلاثة عقود، كان خلالها أحد الوجوه البارزة في المشهد الموسيقي، ورفيقاً لفنان العرب في عدد كبير من الحفلات والأعمال الفنية والوطنية.

كان البركاتي حاضراً في تفاصيل الرحلات والبروفات والحفلات التي جمعت أعضاء فرقة محمد عبده خلال إحدى زياراته الفنية إلى الكويت، وما تلاها من عودة إلى جدة برفقة أعضاء الفرقة.
كما احتفظت الساحة الفنية بذكريات متعددة تجمع البركاتي بمحمد عبده، من بينها مشاركات اجتماعية وفنية، إذ كان الأخير حاضراً في مناسبات عائلية للبركاتي، وهو ما يعكس عمق العلاقة التي تجاوزت حدود العمل الفني إلى الزمالة والصداقة.
وظل اسمه مرتبطاً بالفرقة الموسيقية لفنان العرب، حتى أصبح من الأسماء التي يصعب فصلها عن مرحلة طويلة من مسيرة محمد عبده الفنية، في ظل مشاركته في حفلات وأعمال امتدت لسنوات.

وتُقام الصلاة على الفقيد عقب صلاة عشاء اليوم (الخميس) في المسجد الحرام، فيما يوارى جثمانه الثرى في مقبرة المعلاة بمكة المكرمة.
The rhythmic maestro Omar Shalah Al-Barakati has passed away, one of the most prominent names associated with the musical band of artist Mohammed Abdu, after a long artistic career that spanned more than three decades, during which he was one of the notable figures in the musical scene and a companion to the Artist of the Arabs in numerous concerts and artistic and national works.
Al-Barakati is considered one of the most prominent percussionists in the Kingdom and the Gulf countries, as his name has been linked to Mohammed Abdu’s band for many years, contributing his artistic presence to showcase the Saudi, Hijazi, and Gulf rhythmic styles at various occasions and concerts.
A Long Journey with the Artist of the Arabs
Omar Shalah Al-Barakati formed an important part of the musical scene accompanying the works of artist Mohammed Abdu, accompanying him in concerts both inside and outside the Kingdom, and participating in prominent artistic and national events, including the operetta “Lion’s Den” as part of the Janadriyah Festival, along with multiple participations that contributed to highlighting Saudi and Gulf rhythms.
Al-Barakati was present in the details of the trips, rehearsals, and concerts that brought together the members of Mohammed Abdu’s band during one of their artistic visits to Kuwait, and what followed was a return to Jeddah accompanied by the band members.
The artistic scene also retained multiple memories linking Al-Barakati with Mohammed Abdu, including social and artistic participations, as the latter was present at family occasions of Al-Barakati, reflecting the depth of their relationship that transcended the boundaries of artistic work into camaraderie and friendship.
His name remained associated with the musical band of the Artist of the Arabs, becoming one of the names that are difficult to separate from a long phase of Mohammed Abdu’s artistic journey, given his participation in concerts and works that extended for years.
