وجهت الإعلامية الكويتية مي العيدان اعتذاراً علنياً للفنانة شجون الهاجري لإنهاء الخلاف الذي وقع بينهما منذ أعوام.
علاقة طويلة
وقدمت العيدان اعتذارها عبر منشور على حسابها على «إنستغرام»، أرفقته بصورة تجمعها بشجون الهاجري، مؤكدة أن علاقتهما تمتد إلى سنوات طويلة منذ طفولة الفنانة الكويتية.
بدأت العيدان رسالتها بالتأكيد على أن الاعتذار من مكارم الأخلاق، وكتبت: «من مبدأ الاعتذار، وأنه من مكارم الأخلاق، والصلح خير».
وأضافت أعرف شجون الهاجري منذ أن كانت في الخامسة من عمرها، وكنت أعتبرها بمنزلة ابنتي، معربة عن أسفها تجاه أي إساءة صدرت منها، ومؤكدة أن الإنسان قد يخطئ، وأن الاعتذار لا يقلل من قيمة صاحبه، بل يعبر عن القدرة على تحمل المسؤولية.
كما تمنت لشجون التوفيق في حياتها وأعمالها الفنية، وأن تشهد الفترة القادمة ابتعاداً عن أي خلافات بينهما.
وأوضحت العيدان أنها لا تعلم ما إذا كانت علاقتها بشجون ستعود إلى ما كانت عليه سابقاً، لكنها اختارت تقديم الاعتذار في الوقت الحالي بدلاً من تأجيله، مشيرة إلى أنها لا تنتظر أي رد أو موقف مقابل، وأن ما دفعها إلى ذلك هو إحساسها بضرورة تحمل مسؤولية ما صدر منها في السابق.
بداية الخلاف
وقعت الخلافات بين مي العيدان وشجون الهاجري بالتزامن مع عرض مسلسل «ذاكرة من ورق»، قبل أن تتطور حالة التوتر بين الطرفين خلال السنوات التالية.
وفي 2021، تجددت الخلافات بعد انتقادات وجهتها العيدان إلى أداء الهاجري في مسلسل «ملاك رحمة»، خاصة فيما يتعلق بأحد مشاهد الرقص. وردت شجون وقتها بأنها ترحب بالنقد البنّاء، لكنها لا تلتفت إلى التعليقات التي تتجاوز حدود النقد.
كما واجهت العيدان انتقادات بسبب بعض تصريحاتها المتعلقة بالخلفية العائلية لشجون الهاجري، بعدما رأى البعض أنها خرجت عن الإطار المهني.
وعاد اسم شجون الهاجري للظهور في منشورات مي العيدان في 2025، بسبب القضية المرتبطة بالمخدرات والمؤثرات العقلية، حيث علقت الإعلامية الكويتية على الواقعة، وأشادت بجهود وزارة الداخلية الكويتية في مكافحة المخدرات، كما عبرت عن رأيها في القضية.
Kuwaiti media personality Mai Al-Eidan publicly apologized to artist Shجون Al-Hajri to end the dispute that has existed between them for years.
Long Relationship
Al-Eidan offered her apology through a post on her Instagram account, accompanied by a photo of her with Shجون Al-Hajri, confirming that their relationship has spanned many years since the Kuwaiti artist’s childhood.
Al-Eidan began her message by emphasizing that apologizing is a virtue, writing: “From the principle of apology, and that it is one of the virtues, and reconciliation is good.”
She added, “I have known Shجون Al-Hajri since she was five years old, and I considered her like my daughter,” expressing her regret for any offense that may have come from her, and affirming that a person can make mistakes, and that an apology does not diminish one’s value, but rather reflects the ability to take responsibility.
She also wished Shجون success in her life and artistic work, hoping that the coming period would witness a distance from any disputes between them.
Al-Eidan clarified that she does not know if her relationship with Shجون will return to what it was before, but she chose to offer the apology now instead of postponing it, indicating that she does not expect any response or counter-position, and that what drove her to do so was her feeling of the necessity to take responsibility for what she had said in the past.
Beginning of the Dispute
The disputes between Mai Al-Eidan and Shجون Al-Hajri arose concurrently with the airing of the series “Memory of Paper,” before the tension between the two parties developed over the following years.
In 2021, the disputes renewed after Al-Eidan criticized Al-Hajri’s performance in the series “Angel of Mercy,” particularly regarding one of the dance scenes. Shجون responded at the time that she welcomes constructive criticism, but does not pay attention to comments that go beyond the limits of criticism.
Al-Eidan also faced criticism due to some of her statements regarding Shجون Al-Hajri’s family background, as some felt she had crossed professional boundaries.
Shجون Al-Hajri’s name resurfaced in Mai Al-Eidan’s posts in 2025, due to the case related to drugs and psychotropic substances, where the Kuwaiti media personality commented on the incident, praising the efforts of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior in combating drugs, and expressing her opinion on the matter.
