أعلن الكرملين رسمياً اختيار المملكة العربية السعودية «ضيف الشرف الرئيسي» في الدورة الـ29 لمنتدى سانت بطرسبرغ الاقتصادي الدولي (SPIEF) لعام 2026، الذي تنطلق أعماله هذا الأسبوع.
ويرأس وزير الطاقة الأمير عبدالعزيز بن سلمان وفداً سعودياً رفيع المستوى يضم كبرى المؤسسات والشركات الوطنية، وفي مقدمتها عملاق النفط العالمي «أرامكو السعودية»، للمشاركة في هذا الحدث الاقتصادي الأبرز.
وجاء الإعلان الروسي بالتزامن مع جلسة المباحثات الرسمية التي عُقدت في موسكو بين وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان ونظيره الروسي سيرغي لافروف.
وأكد لافروف أن اختيار المملكة ضيفاً رئيسياً لهذا العام يحمل رمزية تاريخية كبرى، إذ يتزامن مع الاحتفال بمرور 100 عام على تأسيس العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين البلدين، مشيداً بالنجاح الكبير الذي حققته المشاركة السعودية في دورة العام الماضي، التي شهدت مباحثات مثمرة بين الأمير عبدالعزيز بن سلمان ونائب رئيس الوزراء الروسي ألكسندر نوفاك.
وستحظى المملكة عبر جناحها الوطني الخاص في المنتدى بفرصة استثنائية لاستعراض قفزاتها التنموية وقدراتها الاستثمارية والتصديرية والسياحية في ظل رؤية السعودية 2030، إلى جانب عقد مفاوضات تجارية رفيعة وتنظيم برنامج ثقافي يعكس الهوية السعودية.
من جهته، أشار مستشار الرئيس الروسي أنتون كوبياكوف إلى أن المشاركة السعودية ستعطي زخماً جديداً لملفات التعاون المشترك بين موسكو والرياض في قطاعات حيوية تشمل الطاقة والصناعة، النقل والتمويل، والتقنيات العالية.
وبهذه الخطوة الاستثنائية، تنضم المملكة إلى قائمة دول الجنوب العالمي والقوى الإقليمية التي نالت هذا الوضع الشرفي سابقاً مثل الإمارات، قطر، مصر، عُمان، والبحرين.
يُذكر أن منتدى سانت بطرسبرغ، الذي تأسس عام 1997، يُعد المنصة الاقتصادية السنوية الأبرز في روسيا، ويستقطب بانتظام قادة الدول، ووزراء المالية، والرؤساء التنفيذيين لكبرى الشركات العالمية للتباحث في تحديات الأسواق الناشئة والاقتصاد العالمي.
وشهدت الدورة الماضية مشاركة قياسية بلغت 24200 مشارك من 144 دولة، وأسفرت عن توقيع اتفاقيات استثمارية ضخمة بقيمة تجاوزت 6.48 تريليون روبل، ما يعادل نحو 89 مليار دولار، في الحدث الذي يشارك فيه الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين بانتظام وسط رعاية كبرى الشركات الروسية والعالمية مثل روساتوم، سبيربانك، وغازبروم.
The Kremlin officially announced the selection of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the “main guest of honor” at the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) for 2026, which kicks off this week.
Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman heads a high-level Saudi delegation that includes major national institutions and companies, foremost among them the global oil giant “Saudi Aramco,” to participate in this prominent economic event.
The Russian announcement coincided with an official discussion session held in Moscow between Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Lavrov confirmed that the selection of the Kingdom as the main guest this year carries significant historical symbolism, as it coincides with the celebration of 100 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, praising the great success achieved by Saudi participation in last year’s session, which saw fruitful discussions between Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
Through its special national pavilion at the forum, the Kingdom will have an exceptional opportunity to showcase its developmental leaps and its investment, export, and tourism capabilities under Saudi Vision 2030, in addition to conducting high-level trade negotiations and organizing a cultural program that reflects Saudi identity.
For his part, Russian presidential advisor Anton Kobyakov indicated that Saudi participation will give new momentum to joint cooperation files between Moscow and Riyadh in vital sectors including energy, industry, transportation, finance, and high technologies.
With this exceptional step, the Kingdom joins the list of Global South countries and regional powers that have previously held this honorary status, such as the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Oman, and Bahrain.
It is worth noting that the St. Petersburg Forum, established in 1997, is considered the most prominent annual economic platform in Russia, regularly attracting heads of state, finance ministers, and CEOs of major global companies to discuss the challenges of emerging markets and the global economy.
The last session witnessed a record participation of 24,200 participants from 144 countries, resulting in the signing of massive investment agreements worth over 6.48 trillion rubles, equivalent to about 89 billion dollars, at an event regularly attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin amidst the sponsorship of major Russian and global companies such as Rosatom, Sberbank, and Gazprom.
