لامس الدولار أعلى مستوياته في نحو 18 شهراً أمام العملات الرئيسية، وسط اتجاهه لتسجيل مكاسبه الأسبوعية الثالثة على التوالي، مدعوماً بموجة بيع حادة في أسواق السندات العالمية، ومخاوف من تصاعد الضغوط التضخمية مع ارتفاع أسعار النفط، إلى جانب القلق حيال الأوضاع المالية في فرنسا.
وتراجع مؤشر الدولار، الذي يقيس أداء العملة الأمريكية أمام سلة من ست عملات رئيسية، خلال تعاملات اليوم (الجمعة) بنسبة 0.25% إلى 101.87 نقطة، بعدما تجاوز مستوى 102 نقطة للمرة الأولى منذ أبريل 2025.
ورغم التراجع خلال التعاملات، يتجه المؤشر إلى تسجيل مكاسب أسبوعية تقارب 1%، ليواصل ارتفاعه للأسبوع الثالث على التوالي، في أطول سلسلة مكاسب أسبوعية منذ مايو من العام الماضي.
وفي المقابل، ارتفعت توقعات الأسواق بشأن تثبيت مجلس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي الأمريكي أسعار الفائدة خلال اجتماعه في أكتوبر، إذ أظهرت أداة «فيد ووتش» أن المتداولين يسعّرون احتمال إبقاء الفائدة دون تغيير بنسبة 72%، مقارنة بـ36% قبل أسبوع، فيما لا تزال الأسواق تتوقع رفع الفائدة بحلول نهاية العام.
وتترقب الأسواق صدور تقرير الوظائف الأمريكية في وقت لاحق اليوم (الجمعة)، وسط توقعات بتباطؤ نمو الوظائف خلال سبتمبر إلى 89 ألف وظيفة، مقارنة بـ162 ألف وظيفة في أغسطس، مع استقرار معدل البطالة عند 4.1% للشهر الثالث على التوالي.
وارتفع اليورو أمام الدولار 0.15% إلى 1.1259 دولار، وصعد الجنيه الإسترليني بالنسبة ذاتها إلى 1.3217 دولار، فيما تراجع الدولار أمام الين 0.25% إلى 157.68 ين، وانخفض أمام الفرنك السويسري 0.20% إلى 0.8292 فرنك.
The dollar touched its highest levels in nearly 18 months against major currencies, as it heads towards recording its third consecutive weekly gains, supported by a sharp sell-off in global bond markets, concerns over rising inflationary pressures with increasing oil prices, along with worries about the financial situation in France.
The dollar index, which measures the performance of the U.S. currency against a basket of six major currencies, fell today (Friday) by 0.25% to 101.87 points, after surpassing the 102-point level for the first time since April 2025.
Despite the decline during trading, the index is on track to record weekly gains of nearly 1%, continuing its rise for the third consecutive week, marking the longest weekly gain streak since May of last year.
In contrast, market expectations have risen regarding the Federal Reserve’s decision to keep interest rates unchanged during its meeting in October, as the “FedWatch” tool showed that traders are pricing in a 72% chance of keeping rates steady, compared to 36% a week ago, while markets still anticipate a rate hike by the end of the year.
Markets are awaiting the release of the U.S. jobs report later today (Friday), amid expectations of a slowdown in job growth during September to 89,000 jobs, compared to 162,000 jobs in August, with the unemployment rate remaining stable at 4.1% for the third consecutive month.
The euro rose against the dollar by 0.15% to 1.1259 dollars, and the British pound increased by the same percentage to 1.3217 dollars, while the dollar fell against the yen by 0.25% to 157.68 yen, and decreased against the Swiss franc by 0.20% to 0.8292 francs.
