سجل الرقم القياسي لأسعار المستهلك في المملكة ارتفاعاً على أساس سنوي بنسبة 1.8% خلال شهر أغسطس 2026 مقارنة بالشهر المماثل من العام الماضي، فيما ارتفع على أساس شهري بنسبة 0.1% مقارنة بشهر يوليو 2026، وفق بيانات الهيئة العامة للإحصاء.
وأوضحت الهيئة أن الارتفاع السنوي في معدل التضخم جاء بشكل رئيس نتيجة ارتفاع أسعار السكن والمياه والكهرباء والغاز وأنواع الوقود الأخرى بنسبة 3.9%، والأغذية والمشروبات بنسبة 1.4%، والنقل بنسبة 2%.
وسجل قسم السكن والمياه والكهرباء والغاز وأنواع الوقود الأخرى ارتفاعاً بنسبة 3.9%، مدفوعاً بارتفاع أسعار الإيجارات الفعلية للسكن بالنسبة ذاتها، فيما ارتفع قسم العناية الشخصية والحماية الاجتماعية والسلع والخدمات الأخرى بنسبة 3.5%، متأثراً بارتفاع أسعار الأمتعة الشخصية الأخرى بنسبة 13.3%، ومن بينها المجوهرات والساعات التي ارتفعت أسعارها بنسبة 14.4%.
كما ارتفعت أسعار قسم الترفيه والرياضة والثقافة بنسبة 2.8%، مدفوعة بارتفاع أسعار مجموعة عروض العطلات بنسبة 4.7%.
وفي المقابل، انخفضت أسعار قسم الأثاث والأجهزة المنزلية والصيانة الدورية للمنزل بنسبة 0.6%، كما تراجعت أسعار الملابس والأحذية بنسبة 0.5%.
وبحسب الهيئة، كان قسم السكن والمياه والكهرباء والغاز وأنواع الوقود الأخرى المساهم الأكبر في معدل التضخم السنوي بمقدار 0.8 نقطة مئوية، تلاه قسم الأغذية والمشروبات بمساهمة قدرها 0.3 نقطة مئوية، ثم النقل بـ0.3 نقطة مئوية، فيما ساهم قسم العناية الشخصية والحماية الاجتماعية والسلع والخدمات الأخرى بمقدار 0.2 نقطة مئوية، وبقية الأقسام بمقدار 0.2 نقطة مئوية.
وعلى أساس شهري، ارتفع مؤشر أسعار المستهلك في أغسطس بنسبة 0.1% مقارنة بيوليو، نتيجة ارتفاع أسعار السكن والمياه والكهرباء والغاز وأنواع الوقود الأخرى بنسبة 0.2%، والنقل بنسبة 0.6%، والعناية الشخصية والحماية الاجتماعية والسلع والخدمات الأخرى بنسبة 0.8%، والتأمين والخدمات المالية بنسبة 0.5%.
في المقابل، انخفضت أسعار الأغذية والمشروبات بنسبة 0.1%، وأسعار المطاعم وخدمات الإقامة بنسبة 0.4%.
وأشارت الهيئة إلى أن مؤشر أسعار المستهلك يعكس التغيرات في الأسعار التي يدفعها المستهلكون مقابل سلة ثابتة من السلع والخدمات تضم 582 عنصراً، جرى تحديدها استناداً إلى نتائج مسح دخل وإنفاق الأسرة لعام 2023 ومصادر بيانات تكميلية أخرى، فيما بدأت الهيئة نشر البيانات وفق المنهجية المحدثة اعتباراً من أغسطس 2025.
The consumer price index in the Kingdom recorded an annual increase of 1.8% in August 2026 compared to the same month last year, while it rose by 0.1% on a monthly basis compared to July 2026, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics.
The Authority clarified that the annual increase in the inflation rate was primarily due to the rise in prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels by 3.9%, food and beverages by 1.4%, and transportation by 2%.
The housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels sector recorded an increase of 3.9%, driven by the rise in actual rental prices for housing by the same percentage, while the personal care, social protection, and other goods and services sector rose by 3.5%, affected by the increase in prices of other personal items by 13.3%, including jewelry and watches, which saw a price increase of 14.4%.
Prices in the recreation, sports, and culture sector also rose by 2.8%, driven by an increase in the prices of holiday package offerings by 4.7%.
Conversely, prices in the furniture, household appliances, and regular home maintenance sector decreased by 0.6%, and prices of clothing and footwear fell by 0.5%.
According to the Authority, the housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels sector was the largest contributor to the annual inflation rate by 0.8 percentage points, followed by the food and beverages sector with a contribution of 0.3 percentage points, then transportation with 0.3 percentage points, while the personal care, social protection, and other goods and services sector contributed 0.2 percentage points, and the remaining sectors contributed 0.2 percentage points.
On a monthly basis, the consumer price index in August rose by 0.1% compared to July, due to an increase in prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels by 0.2%, transportation by 0.6%, personal care, social protection, and other goods and services by 0.8%, and insurance and financial services by 0.5%.
In contrast, prices of food and beverages decreased by 0.1%, and prices of restaurants and accommodation services fell by 0.4%.
The Authority indicated that the consumer price index reflects the changes in prices paid by consumers for a fixed basket of goods and services that includes 582 items, determined based on the results of the 2023 Household Income and Expenditure Survey and other supplementary data sources, while the Authority began publishing data according to the updated methodology starting from August 2025.
