The reaction of the Syrian singer Assala dominated social media following the victory of the Egyptian artist Angham, who won the “Favorite Singer” award during the Joy Awards ceremony held yesterday in Riyadh, attended by stars from various parts of the Arab world.
A Controversial Photo
The story began after a photo circulated showing Assala at the moment the results were announced, which some followers interpreted as a sign of her discontent with Angham’s victory, opening the door for debate about the nature of the competition between the two stars.
Assala’s Comment on Angham’s Victory
During her interview with the “Arab Wood” program, Assala commented on Angham’s win, confirming that she is happy for any success, but clarified that her greatest joy comes from her own victories, saying: “I will be happy for her win, but not as much as I would be for mine… I only feel joy for Assala.”
Angham Settles the Competition
Angham won the “Favorite Singer” award after a strong competition that included artists such as Assala Nasri, Nancy Ajram, and Bisan Ismail.
Special Recognition for Assala
On the other hand, Assala received the “Honorary Entertainment Makers” award amidst widespread interaction from the audience, who were keen to congratulate and encourage her.
