انخفضت أسعار النفط بنحو 6%، اليوم، وسط توقعات بوقف إطلاق نار محتمل من شأنه أن يخفف من اضطرابات الإمدادات من منطقة الإنتاج الرئيسية في الشرق الأوسط، وذلك عقب تقارير أفادت بأن الولايات المتحدة أرسلت إلى إيران خطة من 15 نقطة لإنهاء الحرب بينهما.
وتراجعت العقود الآجلة لخام برنت 6.21 دولار أو 5.9% إلى 98.28 دولار للبرميل بحلول الساعة 00:58 بتوقيت غرينتش، فيما انخفضت العقود الآجلة لخام غرب تكساس الوسيط الأمريكي 4.67 دولار أو 5.1% إلى 87.68 دولار للبرميل.
تداولت متقلبة
وارتفع كلا الخامين بنحو 5%، أمس الثلاثاء، قبل أن تتراجع مكاسبهما في تداولات متقلبة بعد الإغلاق.
وقال كبير المحللين لدى نيسان سكيوريتيز إنفيستمنت، هيرويوكي كيكوكاوا: «زادت توقعات وقف إطلاق النار زيادة طفيفة، وتقود عمليات جني الأرباح السوق».
وأضاف كيكوكاوا: «لكن التوقعات لا تزال غير مؤكدة بشأن نجاح المفاوضات، وهو ما يحد من عمليات البيع».
وذكر أن أسعار النفط قد تعاود الارتفاع في حالة استئناف القتال وامتداد هجمات إيران إلى منشآت الطاقة في الدول المجاورة.
Oil prices fell by about 6% today, amid expectations of a potential ceasefire that could ease supply disruptions from the key production region in the Middle East, following reports that the United States sent Iran a 15-point plan to end the war between them.
Brent crude futures dropped by $6.21 or 5.9% to $98.28 a barrel by 00:58 GMT, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell by $4.67 or 5.1% to $87.68 a barrel.
Volatile Trading
Both crude types rose by about 5% yesterday, Tuesday, before their gains retreated in volatile trading after the close.
Hiroyuki Kikukawa, chief analyst at Nissan Securities Investment, said: “Expectations for a ceasefire have increased slightly, and profit-taking is driving the market.”
Kikukawa added: “However, expectations remain uncertain regarding the success of the negotiations, which limits selling.”
He noted that oil prices could rise again if fighting resumes and Iran’s attacks extend to energy facilities in neighboring countries.
