أصبح فينير الأسنان من أشهر الإجراءات التجميلية للحصول على ابتسامة أكثر بياضًا وتناسقًا، لكن النتيجة الجمالية لا تعني خلو الإجراء من المشكلات.
من أبرز الآثار المحتملة حساسية الأسنان تجاه البارد والساخن، خصوصًا بعد إزالة جزء من مينا الأسنان للتحضير. كما قد يسبب الفينير ألمًا أو انزعاجًا إذا لم يكن مناسبًا لحجم الأسنان أو طريقة إطباقها.
وتُعد التهابات اللثة من المشكلات التي قد تظهر عند وجود حواف غير دقيقة تسمح بتراكم بقايا الطعام والبكتيريا. كما أن الفينير لا يمنع التسوس، إذ يمكن أن يحدث التسوس حول الحواف أو أسفل القشرة في حال ضعف العناية بالفم.
ومن الناحية الجمالية، قد يتغير مظهر الابتسامة مع الوقت بسبب اختلاف لون الفينير عن الأسنان الطبيعية، كما يمكن أن يتعرض للكسر أو الانفصال، خصوصًا لدى من يضغطون على أسنانهم أو يعضون الأشياء الصلبة.
والأهم أن بعض أنواع الفينير تتطلب إزالة جزء من مينا الأسنان، وهي خطوة غير قابلة للعكس، لذلك يحتاج القرار إلى تقييم دقيق من طبيب الأسنان قبل الإقدام عليها.
