«فخاخ الرائحة» و«رحلة الفتى النجدي» بالكورية والكردية – أخبار السعودية

صدرت حديثاً ترجمتان جديدتان لروايات الروائي يوسف المحيميد، في امتداد لحضور أعماله السردية في لغات وثقافات مختلفة؛ إذ صدرت روايته «فخاخ الرائحة» باللغة الكردية، فيما صدرت روايته «رحلة الفتى النجدي» باللغة الكورية، لتبلغ اللغات التي نُقلت إليها أعماله إلى 12 لغة.

وتأتي الترجمة الكردية لـ«فخاخ الرائحة» ثاني أعمال المحيميد التي تصدر بهذه اللغة، عقب ترجمة روايته «الحمام لا يطير في بريدة»، في خطوة تعكس اتساع حضور الرواية السعودية لدى القراء في المنطقة، ووصولها إلى فضاءات ثقافية ولغوية جديدة.

وتعد «فخاخ الرائحة»، الصادرة باللغة العربية عام 2003، من أكثر روايات المحيميد حضوراً في المشهد الأدبي العالمي، إذ سبق أن تُرجمت إلى عدد من اللغات، من بينها الإنجليزية والفرنسية والإيطالية، وصدرت ترجمتها الإنجليزية بعنوان Wolves of the Crescent Moon عن الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة ودار «بنجوين» في الولايات المتحدة. ووصلت الرواية إلى القائمة القصيرة لجائزة جان ميشالسكي السويسرية للأدب العالمي، فيما نالت ترجمتها الإيطالية جائزة (ألزياتور) للأدب العالمي عام 2011.

فيما، صدرت رواية «رحلة الفتى النجدي» باللغة الكورية، لتفتح نافذة جديدة أمام الأدب السعودي في شرق آسيا. وتستعيد الرواية، التي سبق أن نالت جائزة وزارة الثقافة والإعلام للكتاب عام 2013، رحلة الفتى النجدي وما يتقاطع معها من تحولات المكان والهوية والتجربة الإنسانية.

Two new translations of the novels by the writer Youssef Al-Mohaimid have recently been released, extending the presence of his narrative works in different languages and cultures; his novel “The Traps of Scent” has been published in Kurdish, while his novel “The Journey of the Najdi Boy” has been published in Korean, bringing the total number of languages into which his works have been translated to 12.

The Kurdish translation of “The Traps of Scent” is the second of Al-Mohaimid’s works to be published in this language, following the translation of his novel “The Pigeon Does Not Fly in Buraidah,” in a step that reflects the expanding presence of Saudi novels among readers in the region and their reach to new cultural and linguistic spaces.

“The Traps of Scent,” published in Arabic in 2003, is one of Al-Mohaimid’s most prominent novels in the global literary scene, having previously been translated into several languages, including English, French, and Italian. Its English translation, titled Wolves of the Crescent Moon, was published by the American University in Cairo and Penguin in the United States. The novel made it to the shortlist for the Swiss Jean Michalski Prize for World Literature, while its Italian translation won the (Alziator) Prize for World Literature in 2011.

Meanwhile, the novel “The Journey of the Najdi Boy” has been published in Korean, opening a new window for Saudi literature in East Asia. The novel, which previously won the Ministry of Culture and Information’s Book Award in 2013, recounts the journey of the Najdi boy and the transformations of place, identity, and human experience that intersect with it.
