ونشر أحمد الشقيري عبر حسابه على منصة إنستغرام رسالة وداع لوالده عبّر فيها عن مشاعر الفقد والامتنان، وكتب «أحسنت إليّ، وأحسنت إلى كل من تعاملت معهم في حياتك. كنت سندي. كنت صديقي. كنت معلمي. الحمد لله، ربنا خفّف عنك معاناتك، وأسأله سبحانه أن يحسن إليك كما أحسنت إلينا. روح وريحان وجنة نعيم بإذن الله. عشت 52 سنة على هذه الأرض، ولم أشعر في حياتي بشعور مثل فقدان الأب».
مازن الشقيري
يعُرف الراحل مازن الشقيري بكونه رجل أعمال بارزاً، وهو ابن أحمد أسعد الشقيري، مؤسس منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية، ما منح العائلة بعداً تاريخياً وسياسياً إلى جانب حضورها الاقتصادي والاجتماعي.
مرّت عائلة الشقيري بمحطات متعددة عبر العقود، حيث انتقلت في فترات سابقة من الحجاز إلى مصر، ثم إلى مدينة عكا الفلسطينية، قبل أن تستقر لاحقاً في مدينة جدة، وهو مسار يعكس تحولات تاريخية وجغرافية عاشتها الأسرة، وانعكست على تكوينها الثقافي والاجتماعي.
شكّل مازن الشقيري دعماً أساسياً لمسيرة ابنه المهنية، سواء في بداياته العملية أو خلال انتقاله إلى المجال الإعلامي، إذ أدار أحمد الشقيري أعمال الأسرة في مراحل سابقة، قبل أن يتفرغ لاحقاً لمشاريعه الإعلامية والثقافية، وهو ما يظهر التأثير غير المباشر للراحل في تكوين هذه التجربة.

Ahmed Al-Shuqairi shared a farewell message to his father on his Instagram account, expressing feelings of loss and gratitude. He wrote, “You treated me well, and you treated everyone you interacted with in your life well. You were my support. You were my friend. You were my teacher. Thank God, our Lord has eased your suffering, and I ask Him to treat you well as you treated us. A soul, fragrance, and paradise of bliss, God willing. You lived 52 years on this earth, and I have never felt a feeling like the loss of a father in my life.”
Mazen Al-Shuqairi
The late Mazen Al-Shuqairi is known as a prominent businessman and is the son of Ahmed As’ad Al-Shuqairi, the founder of the Palestine Liberation Organization, which gave the family a historical and political dimension alongside its economic and social presence.
The Al-Shuqairi family has gone through various phases over the decades, having moved from Hijaz to Egypt, then to the Palestinian city of Akka, before eventually settling in Jeddah. This journey reflects the historical and geographical transformations the family has experienced, which have influenced its cultural and social formation.
Mazen Al-Shuqairi was a fundamental support for his son’s professional journey, whether during his early career or as he transitioned into the media field. Ahmed Al-Shuqairi managed the family business in earlier stages before later dedicating himself to his media and cultural projects, which highlights the indirect influence of the late Mazen in shaping this experience.
